Sanrio Puroland: A Kawaii Wonderland
The girls meet Lala
Wow! What a unique place! Sanrio Puroland is an entirely indoor amusement park that’s not only fun for kids but also fascinating for adults who enjoy people-watching. From rides and shows to meet-and-greets and themed food, it’s pure Sanrio magic.
Be warned though—this is a bit of a money pit. After admission, there are plenty of little add-on costs inside, so plan accordingly. Before your visit, be sure to check the website for parade times and which characters will be available for meet-and-greets.
Planning Your Day
Upon entering, head downstairs and to the right to secure your Character Meet & Greet passes. Each device can reserve one slot per group, so if you have multiple devices, you can snag multiple character reservations. The visit itself is quick (about 15 minutes), so don’t worry too much about scheduling conflicts with other activities.
Tip: Only one person needs to line up to book the passes—your group doesn’t need to wait in line.
Nearby is the Puropass station, Sanrio’s version of a fast pass. This can be confusing at first:
Show Puropass: lets you enter shows early and pick seats. Honestly, this didn’t feel worth it—lining up a bit early usually works fine.
Ride Puropass: available at the entrance of each ride. You only need one per group, and it’s surprisingly affordable.
Best strategy: Get your Character Meet & Greet passes and Ride Puropasses right away, then plan the rest of your day around them.
Shows & Parades
We kicked things off by sitting down for the parade, which is an absolute must. Bring a picnic mat—you’ll be sitting on the floor—and some Sanrio-themed goodies (we brought coloring pages, snacks, and Daiso trinkets). By chance, we ended up in the “village” area where the parade begins, which meant we saw all the floats enter first. Magical! ✨
KAWAII KABUKI
This show is entirely in Japanese, so unless you understand the language, it can be tough to follow. Cute, but skippable if language is a barrier.
Byonwaa (Beyond Words)
A non-verbal performance starring Kuromi and Cinnamoroll that was a huge hit with the kids. The forest-themed theater, cozy seating, and high-energy performance made it one of the highlights of our day.

Food & Shopping
The Character Food Court is undeniably kawaii. The food itself? Pretty average—but the presentation and character-themed bentos (that kids can keep!) make up for it.
On your way out, don’t miss the gift shop. Our kids chose a Kuromi water bottle holder and the popular Sanrio “Heart Wand.” Expect lots of temptation here!

Rides
My Melody Drive 🎀 – With a Puropass, we walked right on. They snap multiple photos during the ride, which you can decorate and print afterward for an extra fee.
Sanrio Character Boat Ride 🚤 – Sadly, we missed this one due to early confusion with Puropasses. Next time, it’s at the top of our list!
